Advisory Board

The Advisory Board has been created to assist the CDC Youth Forum in achieving its aims. The Advisory Board is a group of interested individuals who will share their opinions and assist CDC Youth Forum in moving forward.

The current members of the Advisory Board are:


Mrs. Margaret Daly

Former Member of European Parliament/UK

Margaret Daly was a member of the European Parliament for ten years. She served on the Development & Co-operation, Social Affairs, Agriculture, Economic Affairs & Womens’ Rights Committees and was Vice Chairman of the Joint EU/ACP Assembly working on aid and trade with some 80 countries. She has vast experience of how the EU works and has been a team leader of several overseas projects promoting democracy and human rights. She was an official observer at the “Orange Revolution” elections in the Ukraine. Margaret has also been a Board member of the UK European Movement for many years.

Dr. Christopher Hill

Executive Director: The Agora Group, Nottingham/UK,
Teaching Fellow at the University of Nottingham, UK

Christopher Hill obtained his PhD from The University of Nottingham in Political Science in Jan 2006 and is currently lecturing in the School of Politics Nottingham.  Mr. Hill’s PhD analysed the Spanish transition to democracy using the role of elite actors as a focal point. He researches and works within the area of democracy and democratic development and has a particular interest in European development.
 
Mr. Hill co-founded The Agora Group in 2004 and has been instrumental in its development over the past few years. He has demonstrated a commitment to the development of youth involvement in politics and the increased debate amongst students on a global scale.

Piotr Maciej Kaczyñski

Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies, Brussels/Belgium


Piotr Maciej Kaczyński graduated at the College of Europe and the Warsaw University (international relations). His research interests include foreign and external policies of the EU and its member countries (including transatlantic relations and the European Neighborhood Policy) and the political integration of the EU (including the treaty reform). Previously with the Institute of Public Affairs in Warsaw. He has published "Assisting Negotiated Transition to Democracy" (IPA, Warsaw, 2006) and as a co-editor "Bridges across the Atlantic? Attitudes of Poles, Czechs and Slovaks towards the United States" (IPA, Warsaw, 2005). Former member of the Babel International Steering Committee, editor of cafebabel.com. Member of the CDC Youth Forum Advisory Board. He frequently comments on the Polish and European current affairs for the European and world press.

Simonas  Šatūnas

Foreign Policy advisor to the Lithuanian President.   

Having been the Chief Executive Officer of the International Relations Department, Bilateral Co-operation Section, overseeing the cooperation with the Central and Eastern Europe countries in defence matters; it is a pleasure to be on the CDC YF Advisory Board. I have also been involved with the Formulation of Lithuanian multilateral trade policy under the WTO, participation in the WTO new round multilateral trade negotiations, preparation of Lithuanian negotiating positions on the accession of Russia and Ukraine to WTO and an international trade negotiator. I currently advise the Lithuanian president on Foreign Policy. I believe the CDC Youth Forum is a wonderful initiative and look forward to it fulfilling its potential.
